What are the You're Welcome Edmonton Awards all about?
The "You're Welcome Edmonton" Awards are designed to recognize employees and volunteers in the service industry who pride themselves in promoting Greater Edmonton through exemplary service, warm hospitality and commitment to excellence. They may be nominated by visitors, local customers, peers and co-workers. Award recipients are honoured annually in May with a formal awards ceremony.
The You're Welcome Edmonton program consists of two main components:
- You're Welcome Edmonton Awards Program
- Making the Commitment Frontline and Supervisory Training
The Faces of Excellence 2008
Congratulations to all of the award recipients and finalists from the 8th Annual You're Welcome Edmonton Awards. The stars of the Greater Edmonton hospitality and services industries came out to shine on Tuesday, May 13th at the Winspear Centre during a specatular Festival-themed gala which included entertainment by:
- The aerial and acrobatic artists of Firefly Theatre
- Hip-hop dance troupe Freshly Squeezed
- Souljah Fyah
- Whitey Houston with The Whitsundays

Teams of industry partners from the hospitality and service industries met with over 480 nominees during Interview Week this year - a new program record! Volunteers with a human resources or managerial background conducted interviews between April 9th-12th, 2008 at the Shaw Conference Centre, Mayfield Inn & Suites, and the Edmonton Research Park.
